FEAT-DS is based on specific shared requirements in partner communities, which mirror the situation in the Consortium countries, both in terms of target group, people with Down syndrome and sector of adult education. The FEAT – DS project will enable partners to establish a process based on three primary pillars: exchanging, developing and sharing. Partners will share information and case studies about the present state of affairs in their respective countries and localities. This will result in the planning of collaborative initiatives capable of addressing national differences. The project envisions the development and implementation of customised educational materials and activities that combine existing methodologies and novel practices. These materials and activities will result in a qualitative upgrade of all partners’ capability and educational offer, as well as the competences of staff members involved in project implementation. The educational deliverables of the FEAT – DS project have a high potential for inclusion in the adult education systems of the Consortium countries and beyond. Furthermore, because of the typology of the chosen methods (tinkering and coding) and sector of action (electronics), the educational deliverables will be adaptable and transferable to stakeholders working in other sectors.

About
Why this?
The FEAT – DS project aims to accomplish the following goals:
1 Identify hurdles for adults with Down syndrome in terms of access to sufficient education and training opportunities in the Consortium’s member countries and at the EU level.
2 Provide adult educators with new methodology knowledge and abilities, as well as mentoring and support programmes,
resulting in an improvement in their competencies and interventions with the target group.
3 – Empower adults with Down syndrome by providing them with electronic knowledge and abilities, which will boost their job potential as well as their self-esteem and social perspective.
These objectives are linked to the chosen priorities because they are aimed at reaching out to adults with Down syndrome
(a target group with fewer opportunities), addressing their specific barriers, improving the competencies of professionals
working with them, developing a tailored high-quality learning offer tailored to their concrete needs and contributing to the
creation of an inclusive environment in the electronics sector where they have equal employment opportunities as their able-
bodied peers.
