Background of the Project
The EU unemployment rate fell to a record low of 6.4% in the summer of 2019 and remained below 7% well into the spring of 2020. The sudden emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in that year, followed by waves of societal restrictions, caused an immediate shock to the European economy. Between March and September 2020, the unemployment rate grew from 6.5% to 7.7%. More unemployment would likely have occurred if not for various measures introduced to keep the European labour market afloat, according to Statista.
For this purpose, the vision of the EMO2C Erasmus+ project is to strengthen the emotional and social competencies of the target groups so that this personal empowerment serves as a basis for the development of technical and professional skills. The sum of both will allow them to face their return to the labour market with more guarantees. The sought effect is to increase employability options and reduce the alarming figures of youth unemployment in the EU by providing comprehensive training to the target group.
The Main Objectives of the EMO2C Project
Thus, the main objective of EMO2C is to strengthen the emotional and social competencies of the young generation so that this personal empowerment serves as a basis for the development of technical and professional skills. The sum of both will allow them to face their return to the labour market with more guarantees.
The opening meeting of the EMO2C project was held in Cordoba, Spain. In this meeting, central issues such as the future stages of the project, its potential achievements, outputs, risk management, quality assurance and evaluation plan, and dissemination strategies were discussed. The partners shared their experiences about their roles in the project by making presentations and giving observations. The meeting was concluded in a warm, friendly and effective way, like the weather of Cordoba.
